Trump welcomed by world leaders at Notre Dame reopening ceremony in ‘presidential’ fashion

A number of well-known world leaders eagerly greeted President-elect Donald Trump as he held court in France on Saturday, attending the reopening of Paris’ Notre Dame Cathedral.

A video of the former president walking to his seat and pausing to shake hands with heads of state went viral. Trump sat close to first lady Jill Biden and their daughter, Ashley, who also gave the incoming president a hearty welcome. President Biden was not there on the trip.

The pomp and circumstance, including the red carpet, that were thrown for Trump in a manner usually reserved for a sitting president quickly caught the attention of social media users.

“At the official reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral, Prince William greets President Trump along with heads of state and other leaders from around the globe. Another said, “It’s safe to say the US is well & truly back & respected on the world stage.”

“Hard to tell if this was the re-opening of Notre Dame or the re-opening of Trump as global leader,” Raymond Arroyo, a contributor for Fox News, wrote on X.
